Creative Media Hype came into existence after a number of people had started requesting my services. Hi 👋 I’m Shannon, and I accidentally fell into this world of online marketing.
I guess my story began back in the early 2000’s. I was working as an intern at the local television station. This was only due to the fact that I started as a print journalism major, but realized that was a dying career field, and I was too lazy to change my major completely, so I switched to broadcast (and didn’t lose a single credit).
A friend of mine had an sports internship and asked if I wanted to join him (yeah, it was that easy). Who was I to turn down this kind of opportunity? Low and behold, I was hired as a part-time production assistant before I graduated, and was offered a full-time producing position immediately after graduation.
As the internet began booming and the world of social media was just starting to take off as a platform for businesses to gain traction, I fell into the mix. I learned new things, tested new things, built websites, and continued to grow in my own professional development. However, I still wasn’t convinced that stepping away from television was a smart decision, so I stuck with it and eventually spent two years working on a nationally syndicated show. I won two Emmy’s, a media award for my campaign to prevent child drownings, a Listy, and a few other awards and accolades along the way. It was a fun ride.
Slowly, friends, co-workers, some guys who knew some guys, their aunts, cousins, neighbors, and family began asking for help and advice in the online sphere. So… 20 some years later, here I am.
